Holiday Update...

Holiday Update - Where did this year go?

That magical time of year has snuck up on us once again.

We will carry our usual selection of Christmas trees, along with garlands, wreaths, swags, mistletoe, holly, and poinsettias. If all goes as planned, our cut trees will arrive very late in the week before Thanksgiving and should then be available for sale beginning the Tuesday before Thanksgiving. Silvertips should arrive sometime during the week of Thanksgiving but are commonly delayed due to weather, so be sure to call to confirm before making the trip. We will also have a great selection of Living Christmas Trees (potted trees).

And of course, we will have many artfully decorated Christmas trees in our enchanting holiday shop. The Christmas Shop will be opening on November 15th. Some of our customer’s favorite trees include:

Cut Natural Nobles

  • Noble Fir: It forms a pure dense pyramidal, symmetrical shape and is known for its long keepability and lovely pine scent. Stiff, well-spaced branches are great for heavy ornaments. Blue-green in color but can appear silver due to white pores on the top and bottom of the needles.

  • Natural Noble:  Also known as a Wild Noble, because of a more open branch structure vs other Noble firs. Natural Nobles are much lighter, easier to handle, and stay fresher much longer. Lovely pine scent.

  • Nordman: Excellent needle retention with longer lifespan than other cut firs. Attractive foliage, softer needles, and resistant to shedding. The Nordman fir lacks scent which is ideal for those with scent sensitivity or allergies. Beautiful shape, pyramidal symmetry and density, with strong branches fit for large ornaments. Deep green needles with silvery undersides.

  • Fraser: Pyramidal shape more slender than other firs. It has deep blue-green needles with excellent retention and a pleasant, woody aroma. Its branches are well-spaced, turn slightly upward, and are strong and able to hold heavy ornaments. One of the longest lasting Christmas trees.

  • Silvertip: Silvertips tend to be symmetrical in shape, with strong branches that spread from the trunk in rings. It has a simple branching structure and distinctive, large openings between branch layers that make this variety an ideal tree for showcasing ornaments. The needles have a green, blueish tint with silver tips.

  • White Fir: It has good foliage color, a pleasing natural shape and aroma, and good needle retention.  Needles are small, narrow, and occur in rows. On upper branches, needles tend to be thicker and more curved than those on lower branches. Needles are notched at the tip; blueish-green when young turning a dull green with age.

  • Douglas Fir: It is one of the most popular Christmas trees with soft shiny, blue-green needles and a sweet fragrance. It has an excellent symmetrical form and density with flexible, medium weight branches that spread and droop.
